They can really turn it around by defeating the Cowboys – winners of five straight. Obviously, it’s not going to be easy.
I’ll take CeeDee Lamb over Stefon Diggs and 4. 33-speedster Brandin Cooks over Gabe Davis. Defensive backfield? I’ll take Dallas, since Tre’Davious White is out. This is a game where the Bills’ defense really misses White and Matt Milano. Dak Prescott is Mr. Efficient at quarterback. Knows where to go with the ball. Accurate. Almost never throws interceptions. Somehow, the Bills have to hold Dallas to a couple field goals in the red zone. The other key is the Bills’ offense needs to control time of possession. The Bills must run the ball well.
The challenge for head coach Sean McDermott will be to carry over that success following halftime. The challenge for Buffalo’s defense this week is massive, and the injuries to safety Micah Hyde and defensive end A. J. Epenesa don’t help things. It is tempting to look at last week’s result as a sign the Bills are truly back, but I’m not quite convinced. Cowboys, 34-27. Katherine FitzgeraldIf the Cowboys score early – as they tend to do – then there’s no room for a slow start for the Bills. The Cowboys are hot right now. They’ve won five in a row, and they’ve done so demonstratively. Dallas’ roster is loaded, so it is a tough task for the Bills.
The Cowboys’ three losses have all come on the road, and the Bills play well at home. I’ll take the home team for this one. Bills, 34-31. Mark GaughanIf you compare the two rosters, I think you have to conclude the Cowboys have more talent. The Bills offensive line is good. Dallas’ is better, one of the best three in the NFL. The Bills’ defensive line is good. I’ll take the Dallas front four, with the most physically gifted pass rusher in the league in Micah Parsons. Wide receivers? Dallas.
Last week’s win for Buffalo over Kansas City showcased that the Bills are trending in the right direction as they gear up for the final stretch of the regular season. It is no small task to beat the Cowboys, but if the Bills offense can sustain drives, it certainly ups their chances. I think a second week of having Dawson Knox back allows interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady some more creativity with two tight ends. Keep running back James Cook involved, and let Josh Allen make some signature plays.
